9th Edition of Magazine Advertising Placement Standards (Published on 20th May, 2011)
Magazine Advertising Placement Standards (in Japanese)The guidebook presents regulations and noteworthy issues including voluntary standards, related to acceptance and publication of advertisements in magazines. The Standards were first published in 1971, and are revised every five or six years. This 9th edition was released after 7 years, and new features include “advertisements in the Internet and mobile phone sites,” “advertisements about gambles,” “advertisements about restoratives and invigorants,” and “advertisements on juvenile magazines.” The guidebook is edited according to the content of advertisements, and very useful and practical.

It features an interview column "Forefront" on magazine advertising by advertisers and fascinating features contributed by JMAA executives and others in the industry only available through JMAA. Normal publications are 8 B5-size pages and distributed on the first day of each month. A special enlarged November issue is distributed in B5-size 32 pages, full-color, specially featuring the Japan Magazine Ad Award.

The first and last pages present information about JMAA: an overview of JMAA, the dates of important JMAA events, and lists of winners of Annual Japan Magazine Ad Awards (Overall best prize and METI Prize), member companies, media and advertising companies, self-censorship organizations, and public offices.

Magazine Advertising (in Japanese)Our association took the 60th anniversary of its founding, celebrated on November 1, 2006, as a fitting occasion to publish Kizuna. In this handbook, the main themes related to magazine advertising have been clearly explained by a writing staff composed of people active in fields connected to the themes. A must-read for anybody involved in magazine advertising, Kizuna explains the conditions surrounding magazine advertising, provides hints for thinking about the direction to proceed in the future, and is useful for promotion as well. Printed on 144 pages of A5-sized paper, it is also a book that is handy and easy to read.
